The space
Upon entering this home, you will be greeted by the warm and inviting atmosphere of the living room. The original hardwood floors and vintage windows will transport you back to a simpler time. Relax and enjoy a movie on the modern, 50″ flat-screen Smart Roku TV or read a book from our collection.
The adjacent dining room is perfect for family meals, meetings or dinner parties with friends. The table comfortably seats eight and is surrounded by windows that let in plenty of natural light.
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare a delicious meal for your group. It features a stove, small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and all the necessary cookware and utensils.
The home has four comfortable bedrooms, each with its own unique charm. The master bedroom features a comfortable king-sized bed, comfy sitting area and a closet for your belongings. The second bedroom has a queen-sized bed, dresser and sitting area. The third and fourth bedrooms each have a full-sized bed and closet. All of the bedrooms are equipped with comfortable bedding and plenty of pillows to ensure a good night’s sleep.
The home has two full bathrooms – one of which features a shower and bathtub combination. The bathrooms are stocked with towels and toiletries, so you don’t have to worry about packing your own.
Outside, you’ll find a large backyard with two patio areas. Sip a glass of wine in the evening!
One of the best features of our home is its location in the Historic District of the town. You can take a stroll down the tree-lined streets and admire the beautiful architecture of the historic homes. The town also has several museums, boutiques, antique shops, and restaurants.
If you’re looking for outdoor activities, there are plenty of options nearby. There are parks within a short drive or you can take a scenic drive to nearby State Parks, where you can go hiking, fishing, or camping. There are also zoos within a 45-minute radius, as well as wineries and breweries in the general area that offer tastings and tours.

DAY 1: Exploring Downtown Hillsboro – Spa and Shopping!
1. Breakfast at Overflow Coffee & Cafe – Start your day with a delicious breakfast and coffee at this cozy spot located in the historic Bond Emporium. The café has a warm and welcoming ambiance, perfect for relaxing with friends. The second-story lounge and local art on display add to the charm. Overflow has a variety of coffee and food options – all made from scratch!
2. Shopping in Downtown Hillsboro – Stroll through the charming downtown area, visiting local shops and boutiques housed in historic buildings. Antique shops as well as cute boutiques can be found throughout the square area. If you are into resale shopping – Hillsboro has two great options right off of the square!
1. Lunch at Branded Burger – Enjoy a hearty lunch in a beautifully restored building that was once the Cotton Exchange. Branded Burger has a vibrant and playful atmosphere with a vintage vibe. The upstairs dining area offers a great view and has TVs for sports viewing, making it a fun place to hang out with friends. Their menu is varied and offers a lot of tasty options, including unique burgers, onion rings and fried pies.
2. Pampering at a Salon 110 – this salon offers a relaxing experience in a charming atmosphere. Located in a beautifully restored building with original features like an ornate tin ceiling, concrete floors, a mezzanine skylight and exposed brick. They offer a range of services from nails to facials to massage. Be sure to make an appointment ahead of time!
1. Dinner at a Local Restaurant/Bar – try one of Hillsboro’s local favorites for a relaxing dinner. If you’re in the mood for Italian, Frenkie’s is the place to go. They have delicious Italian cuisine with a variety of pasta dishes and gourmet pizzas. After dinner, ask where the bar is! It’s tucked away and feels a bit like a speak-easy. Another, more casual Italian restaurant is Milano’s Pizza. In the mood for Mexican food? Try either El Charro Mexican Grill (which also boasts a bar) or YaYa’s Place.
2. Ember Cigar Lounge – specializing in their Bourbon menu, this lounge also sells draft beer and wine. It has a cozy and cool atmosphere and is a must try!

The museum houses a variety of quirky and unique exhibits that offer a fascinating glimpse into the mid-20th century American culture such as a replica soda shop, old gas station storefront, and even the original metal casket of the Big Bopper. The museums owner often gives personal tours, sharing stories and insights about the collection.

2. Visit the Parks – Hillsboro City Park offers a variety of recreational facilities including tennis courts, baseball and soccer fields, and pavilions for gatherings. There’s also an outdoor stage with musical instruments like a xylophone and drums. Wallace Park spans over 100 acres, and offers state-of-the-art sporting facilities, including baseball, basketball, and soccer fields. It also has pavilions, restrooms, and a nature trail.
1. Wrangler’s Café and Entertainment – Wrangler’s has something on the menu for everyone. If you like dining outside, they have an outdoor patio for you! The café features pool tables, a sports bar, and a video arcade. The café also hosts special events like karaoke night and has live music. At the bar, there is a great selection of drafts beers and some wines as well!
2. Nightlife at Hillsboro Truckyard – if you’re visiting between May and September, catch a live concert every Saturday at this popular downtown venue until 11pm!
