Cole Ford Building
The old “Ford Building” on Elm Street has been known by several names, but always related to a Ford automobile dealership. Built about 1910, it was originally called the “Ford Station” where Model-T cars received final assembly after being unloaded from trains at the Hillsboro depot. Later called Patterson Motor Car Company, it became Ganus Ford for many years, and was then sold to Jim Carr Ford in the late 50s. It became Cole Ford in 1964 and remained that until 2005 when Cole Ford moved to a new facility.
The building is now the home of “Roadside American Museum”, a museum dedicated to advertising memorabilia and classic cars.
