Bond’s Alley
A Dallas Newspaper gave the following description of the Alley.
“Old-Timers of Hillsboro who have nothing to do usually did most of it at Bond’s Alley”.
The Alley was a gathering place for and Local site for politics, peddlers’ shows, whittling, cockfights or fisticuffs. Named for Bond’s Drug Store, located here since 1881, and sheltering in bad weather people who usually sunned in alley. Early neighbors varied from a Chinese laundry to an auto assembly shop. Recorded Texas Historic Landmark, 1969
The benches are still there and it is a lovely place to sit and view the Court House and take photos where horse and buggy once passed by.
Today, Bond’s Alley is home to the yearly Bond’s Alley Art Festival.
